Among numerous other credits, the West End’s Sarah O’Connor is best known for her current role in the original London cast of Waitress, and for originating the role of Imelda Quirke in The Commitments. She is thrilled to make her solo concert debut alongside special West End guests for Brain Research UK at Lola’s, London Hippodrome on Sunday 29 March 2020, 3pm.
Accompanied by a 3-piece band led by West End musical director Nick Finlow, Sarah O’Connor in Concert will feature guest appearances from Rob Houchen (Les Miserables, Eugenius!, The Light in the Piazza); Nicole Raquel Dennis (Dear Evan Hansen, Dreamgirls, Waitress); Steven Leask (School of Rock, Waitress) and Verity Blyth (Sylvia, The Cherry Orchard). This special performance promises to showcase Sarah’s huge capacity to cross genres, characters and periods - from bold musical theatre numbers to jazz, soul, and music from the heart of Sarah’s story as a girl from a small village near Dublin.
Sarah first rose to prominence in her native Ireland when she won the votes of millions finishing runner-up in TV talent show Fame - Remember My Name in 2010. Since moving to London, Sarah’s West End credits have included Mistress in Evita, Imelda in The Commitments, Les Miserables and Mamma Mia. Sarah can currently be seen in the original London cast of Waitress, where she covers & plays the roles of Jenna & Dawn until the show draws to a close in July.
