Off the back of his UK tour opening shows for 8-time Grammy Award winner Gladys Knight, Alexander makes a welcome return to the Hippodrome this October.
Alexander released his debut album ‘All Or Nothing At All’ to critical acclaim In September 2011, . The album featured a ‘Stellar’ blend of original material, clever re-arrangements of some famous jazz standards, alongside great pop songs.
Following the success of his debut release, Alexander was asked to open shows for Dionne Warwick on her UK tour 2012.
Alexander regularly tours much of the UK, and has played numerous music festivals including both the London and Cheltenham Jazz Festivals. His shows at most of London’s prestigious music rooms, are often to sell-out audiences.
Alexander was invited by the legendary Count Basie Orchestra as guest vocalist in December 2014, marking his debut in Asia, at the world-famous Venetian Hotel, Macau, China.
Alexander’s appearances on both television and radio include live performances on The Alan Titchmarsh Show (ITV), Friday Night Is Music Night (BBC Radio 2), In Tune (BBC Radio 3), Ronnie Scott’s Radio Show (Jazz FM) as well as airplay on the Dermot O’Leary and Clare Teal radio shows (BBC Radio 2) and other national and regional stations.
‘I Thought About You’ the new album, was released in 2016 after recording sessions in London with a big band at Angel Studios and in Prague with The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The album was launched with 2 sell out shows at The Hippodrome London, and 235 Live, in Alexander’s hometown; Manchester.
